& Investments (TSI) provides strategic sales
and marketing consulting across a variety of
technology-driven businesses. TSI, headed by James
F. (Jim) Girand, has worked with companies of all
sizes. In smaller organizations, TSI typically
works with the founding team to define and
implement business, marketing and sales strategies
for the purposes of raising venture capital and
gaining initial customer acceptance. With larger
clients, TSI conducts in-depth market studies.
Specific areas of focus include automation
software, wireless components and systems,
specialized computer systems and high value added
semiconductors.
As a significant part of our practice, TSI has
created and implemented Japanese distribution
strategies for our clients. Approaching top quality
trading organizations such as Itochu, Innotech,
Soliton Systems, and others, we have achieved six
and seven figure prepurchase and equity investments
via strategic partnerships.

TSI is a World Ranked Duathlete
In addition to running TSI, a highly regarded
consulting business, Jim Girand is an
internationally competitive duathlete. He was
selected by Inside Triathlon Magazine as an age
group All American each year from 1993 through
2005. He finished fifth in his age group at the
1997 World Duathlon Championship in Guernica,
Spain, sixth in his age group at the 1999 World
Duathlon Championship in Huntersville, NC, and
sixth in his age group at the 2002 World Duathlon
in Alpharetta, GA. and
fifth in his age group at the 2007 World Duathlon
Championship in Gyor, Hungary. Then, culminating
2007, Girand won a silver medal at the World Long
Course Duathlon Championship held in Richmond,
VA.!! The distances were 9.4 mile run, 47 mile bike
and 4.7 mile run.
Jim ran successfully for a seat on the USAT Board
of Directors in 2001 and would like to thank those
of you who voted for him. Jim was elected again in
2003.
